Prudence Dees, MA

My passion:

My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that every person is a unique, beautiful masterpiece—created for a life of joy, purpose, and connection. Yet, the brokenness of the world can leave individuals feeling fractured, discouraged, and disconnected in the face of suffering and hardship. My deepest passion lies in walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate pain, pursue healing, and rediscover joy in life’s journey. My holistic approach nurtures wellness in body, soul, and spirit. I strive to offer a safe, welcoming space where people feel truly seen and known as they work through challenges and move toward meaningful transformation.

To that end, I specialize in identity development, anxiety and depression, faith and spiritual integration, multicultural concerns, attachment and family of origin issues, and life transitions and adjustments

Faith and Spiritual Integration:

For many, spirituality is a vital part of life—and it can be a powerful source of healing. For those who desire it, I welcome the integration of faith into counseling. This might include prayer, meditation, reflection on sacred texts, or connecting with nature. I honor each person’s spiritual background and invite them to draw strength from their own traditions, which can bring comfort, clarity, and hope throughout the therapeutic process.

Identity Development:

I’m passionate about helping individuals explore the complex layers that shape their sense of self. Our identity—whether whole or fragmented—profoundly impacts how we relate to others and move through the world. As we pass through different seasons of life—emerging adulthood, midlife, or the later years—our sense of self can shift and grow. I offer a space to explore identity with curiosity and compassion, uncovering the richness that lies within.

Art and Movement:

Creative expression offers a unique pathway to healing. The arts can help us process emotions, foster connection, and engage the mind, body, and spirit in transformative ways. Whether it’s the rhythm of music, the flow of paint, or the grounding of movement, creative exploration can unlock new avenues for growth and insight. You don’t need to be an “artist”—just a willingness to explore is enough. This is a space where your creativity is welcome, however it shows up.

Do I work with struggles not on this list?

Absolutely. If you’re seeking a holistic approach to healing but don’t see your specific concern mentioned, I’d still love to connect. Or, if you're facing anxiety, identity challenges, or something else and prefer a more traditional therapeutic style, we can tailor our work to fit you. Let’s talk about what feels most helpful for where you are now.
